Barbara Shumaker began with CAPS in 2009. Since then she has worn many hats throughout the agency. She has worked in the administrative office, the drop-in center and in 2012 she finally landed a home as Director of the Morning Program. Her extensive background as a peer leader provides valuable insight in ways that set a fine example to those, who at times, need this type of guidance. Her knowledge of mental health organizations and systems enable her to assist members in navigating complicated paperwork required for connections to needed services.
